The boiler and freezer stuff is now all sorted out. Mom predicted that the boiler would start screaming again at 1AM, and low and behold it started screaming again at 1AM exactly, which I guess was kinda funny, but it did keep screaming intermitently (though not until like 6AM at least). Anyway the boiler guys came back and either reinstalled or just replaced the pump and now there's actually heat upstairs. A part of me still feels like there might have just been air in the system (but why take off the pump then) but even if there was getting them to come back was still, like, the correct thing to do.
